Clearance

The Futrell Marine Championship was held on Saturday, June 25th 2011, on Broken Bow Lake. There were 50 teams that participated in the championship tournament. All 50 teams had previously qualified for this tournament by fishing at least 4 out of 5 of the regular season tournaments. With temperatures around 100 degrees all week, high winds blowing and recreational boats everywhere, the anglers had some very tough conditions for fishing. There were 15 teams that did not weigh-in a fish. Even with the tough conditions there were 20 teams that did weigh-in a 5 fish limit. That is a true testament to how good the fishermen are in the Futrell Marine tournament trail.

There was over $18,000 in cash and prizes given out at this tournament. First place in the tournament went to Michael Howard and Shawn Powell who weighed 5 fish totaling 20.12 lbs. They won $6,000 cash, a $2,000 Ranger Boat Certificate, and $500 for being Ranger Cup qualified. Second place went to Adam Wright and Skip Griese who had 5 bass that weighed 14.30 lbs. They won $4,000. Third place went to Jeff Teague and Jerrod Lyons who had 5 bass weighing 13.88 lbs. They won $2,000. Fourth place went to Brad Deal and Chris Lester who had 5 bass that weighed 13.55 lbs. They won $1,000. Fifth place went to Chris Davis and Poe Constantino who had 5 bass that weighed 13.33 lbs. They won $900.
First place Big Bass for the tournament went to Tony Chesshir. He had a bass that weighed 5.97 lbs. He won $300. Michael Howard and Shawn Powell won $200 for second place Big Bass that weighed 5.86 lbs. Adam Wright and Skip Griese had third place Big Bass that weighed 4.45 lbs. They won $100 for it.
The Futrell Marine Angler of the Year Award was given out at the Championship. Chris Stinnett and Robbye Westfall won with a total of 950 points out of a possible 1000. They were awarded $1,000 courtesy of Diamond Bank for their good fishing.
